Three's A Charm
In his book, The Unchurched Next Door, Thom Rainier stated that only 21% of churched people had ever invited ANYONE to church. Only two percent had invited an unchurched person. This is poor response to our call to fulfill the Great Commission.
Rainier also said that thirty-eight percent (38%) of the unchurched in America feel friendly or very friendly toward the church. Eighty-two of these will attend if invited. That works out to almost 31% of unchurched Americans who would respond positively to an invitation to church.
Here's my challenge. Between now and Sunday, ask three different people to come to church with you. Tell them where you will meet them so you can sit together and go to Bible Study together. Focus on the unchurched. We do not want to "steal sheep" from another church. Look at your neighbors, co-workers, causal acquaintances and divine appointments. If Rainier is correct, at least one will attend with you.
